Well, I have this tremendous longing of heading out and buying a copy of Doom III, that will be available in stores within 3-4 days. But the hefty price tag of 55$ is playing games in my head. According to the hardware requirement analysis at HardOCP.com – Doom III Hardware Review my Inspiron 8600 will be able to run it, and I should be able to play with medium quality settings@ 800×600. (A poor graduate student like me have to live with that). So what do I do? Buy or not to buy? … to buy or not to buy ?….to buy or not to buy ?…. but the game really looks awesome. My current mindframe reminds me of my first year in IITK, when I spend Rs. 1100 to buy a copy of Quake II… somehow I feel nothing has changed !

Asambhav – watched it today with Sagnik. Watchable, but definitely crappy and old storyline and full of acion cliches. But I don’t think there exists any movie (or, very few maybe) which one will not find ‘watchable’ after tolerating Julie. But for this movie, the credit mostly goes to the cast. Unlike Julie, some of the actors here actually acted, specially Naseeruddin Shah. Arjun Rampal is definitely one of the good loooking actors in India these days. Oh well…..

Oh.. I played a lot of Star Wars today… my second toon become a Master Bounty Hunter today :) for those who don’t know what I am talking about, go to here. :)

A sudden impulse, and I walked out of my lab in the afternoon and headed for AMC La Jolla and reached just in time for Cat Woman. I really liked the trailer, and Halle Berry was terrific. But unfortunately, almost all of the worth watching scenes and gestures were cramped into the trailer itself. Though the storyline was weak, the idea of Sharon Stone beating up the Cat Woman just did not feel right to me.

But what the hell, it was a nice two hour entertainment. Definitely watchable once. Now I have to rent a DVD for Bourne Identity, and then I have to see the Bourne Supremacy.

My Life 28 Jul 2004 11:40 pm

Today was one of those days in which I desperately try to break free of my vegetable existence. These days I am practically doing nothing. My research is kind of stalled, and these beautiful summer days are passing by one after another. This is getting kind of painful. Now I really feel that I should have gone for an internship.

I planned a lot of stuff to do for this weekend, but then I also need some people :) which is really tough it seems.
